An experimental setup for cliff landslides. a An acrylic box with slots “a”–“d” with a thickness of 1.5 cm for the gates. A laser displacement sensor is positioned above the centerline of the cliff at a distance of \(\sim 1.5\) cm from the cliff face. b Locations of the pressure sensor (measures the \(\sigma\)) and pore water pressure sensor (measures the u) pairs. 3–4 pairs (a total of 6–8) of these sensors are used.
