Among the widespread tephra beds in the Shimosa Group, those detected in core GS-UR-1 (J4, Km2, Km4, and Hk-TP) are shown in bold (Nakazawa and Nakaszto 2005). The Yokota and Kiyokawa formations shown in shaded boxes are lacking due to the erosion during MIS 6 at the core site of GS-UR-1 (Nakazawa and Nakaszto 2005). The marine oxygen isotope curve is adapted from Lisiecki and Raymo (2005)
