Histograms in a the salinity anomaly (PSS-78) and b DO anomaly (μmol kg−1) among 26.2–26.8σθ isopycnal levels. Frequency is counted based on the horizontally and vertically gridded data. Horizontal interval is interpolated every 1 km, while the vertical one is every 0.01 σθ. Histograms in a and b are separated every 0.2 and 2 μmol kg−1 bins, respectively. Medians of salinity and DO anomalies are − 0.00014 and 0.71, respectively. Mean salinity and DO anomalies are − 0.018 and 1.8, respectively
