Composite plots of mean h’F(2.5) vs LT, constructed by averaging curves taken at CPN, from 17 nights in March 2004. The gray curve is the mean of five nights of no plumes; green curve is the mean of 12 nights containing plume activity. The red curve (labeled group 1) is the mean of seven nights, when plumes appeared in the EAR scanned sector; blue curve (labeled group 2) is the mean of five nights, when plumes entered the EAR scanned sector. These curves were extracted from Figs. 7 and 8 in Fukao et al. (2006). Mean SSN for 2004 was 40.4
