These snapshots have been adapted from the 20th cycle of the model experiment, wherein the period of the oscillatory forcing is T ∗=4.5 years; the reference layer thickness is H ∗=100 m, and the equatorial deformation radius is \(\sqrt {c^*/\beta ^*}=87~\text {km}\).
