Evolution of FeS melt distribution in the olivine matrix by shear deformation. Measurements were taken at 1.5 GPa and 1373 K. The San Carlos olivine matrix has been digitally removed to illustrate the 3D distribution of liquid FeS better (colored packets). Sample at a −1.5 GPa and 1373 K, before shear deformation and b −1.5 GPa and 1373 K, after twisting the upper and lower anvils by 840°. Boxes define the ROIs cut out from the entire sample volume.
